Foundation Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural & Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy
The Centre for Stress Management and its Faculties have been providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) training for health and caring professionals since 1980s. The Centres have trained 1000s of students in these two approaches since its launch in 1987.
We run two courses that provide an introduction to CBT and REBT. The 2-day Primary Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Training (module 1) and the 2-day Primary Certificate in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy & Counselling (module 2). These two courses form the Foundation Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural & Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy and are both British Psychological Society Learning Centre approved. These courses provide knowledge and skills training for health professionals and may also be of interest to para-professionals.
CONTENT
This is a modular 4-day course. Students must attend both modules below:
1) Primary Certificate in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Training
2) Primary Certificate in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy & Counselling
This foundation programme is specifically for health and caring professionals who wish to attend a short course to gain an introduction to the theory and practice of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy.
AIMS
To provide an introduction to the theory and practice of Cognitive-Behavioural and Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy.
OBJECTIVES
All of the objectives for the two component modules are objectives for this course.
ASSIGNMENTS & CERTIFICATE
A certificate is awarded to participants who successfully complete the two modules and the assignments undertaken at home for each module. In addition to the fees for each module, there is an administration and certification fee of £50 for the Foundation Certificate.
TRAINERS
Trainers include Professor Stephen Palmer PhD CPsychol who is a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist, AREBT Accredited Therapist, Supervisor and Trainer, UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Albert Ellis Institute (New York) REBT Certified Supervisor. He holds the European Certificate in Psychology. Kasia Szymanska MSc CPsychol is a BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist. Both are Chartered Psychologists and HCPC Registered and have co-authored books, chapters and articles in this field.
